Gamescom 2021: Death Stranding Director’s Cut full details revealed

As part of Gamescom 2021’s Opening Night Live, the upcoming Death Stranding Director’s Cut was given the spotlight, showing fans everything new that will be coming with this next-gen enhanced release, including a plethora of new delivery options, jump ramps and more.

Ahead of its release on the 24th of September 2021, Death Stranding: Director’s Cut received a new extended trailer showcasing all of the new additions coming alongside the game. While it was already known that the game would be getting PS5 support in the form of enhanced DualSense haptics, Adaptive Triggers support, 3D audio and more, some of the many gameplay and story inclusions were also revealed.

It was previously confirmed that the game would be getting New Story Missions; New Enemies; Upgraded Melee Combat; Maser Gun; Mounted Machine Guns; Firing Range; Cargo Catapult; Support Skeleton; Buddy Bot; Jump Ramp and the Fragile Racing Circuit.

Now, more details were shown off, including gameplay of the thrusters, allowing Sam to jump long distances while taking little to no impact damage. The cargo catapult allows you to shoot caro over long distances, while remotely controlling its descent and landing in an almost mini-game like fashion.

The Buddy Bot can now do much more than deliver cargo on your behalf. It can follow you around, carry cargo for you, or even act as a transport device for Sam himself, letting the porter rest his feet for a while. There is a new firing range which lets you test your guns, skills and abilities, and can even compare yourself to other porters via an online leaderboard.

You can replay boss battles and listen to new music thanks to the addition of 8 new tracks. There are also new “action packed” missions set in locations not seen before – expanding the world of Death Stranding, all the while offering new gameplay opportunities.

These are but a few of the many many changes and additions coming with Death Stranding Director’s Cut. The full trailer can be seen HERE.
