Crucial launches its first ever NVMe PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD – the P5 Plus

Crucial has finally joined the PCIe 4.0 SSD race with the new P5 Plus. Available with up to 2TB of storage capacity, the P5 Plus uses Micron Advanced 3D NAND and innovative controller technology to offer sequential reads up to 6600MB/s.

Advanced features such as dynamic write acceleration, error correction, encryption capability, and adaptive thermal protection enable the P5 Plus to keep data safe and maintain reliable performance. Sequential read/write speeds differ between the 500GB, 1TB and 2TB versions, with the entry-level SSD offering 6600MB/s read speeds and 3000MB/s write speeds. Meanwhile, the 1TB and 2TB versions offer 6600MB/s read speeds and 5000MB/s write speeds.

Each unit of the P5 Plus is developed, manufactured, and tested by Micron, ensuring the SSD's quality before being shipped to the customer. This SSD is backwards compatible with PCIe 3.0 interfaces, so those without a PCIe 4.0 capable motherboard can still use it, albeit at reduced speeds.

The Crucial P5 Plus SSDs are available starting this month. The 500GB model costs $107.99, the 1TB model goes for $179.99, and the 2TB model is priced at $367.99. All models are backed by a 5-year warranty.
