SteelSeries Spectrum 7XB Wireless Xbox 360 Gaming Headset

Rating: 8.0.

Recently we looked at the Spectrum 5XB, SteelSeries' first attempt at an Xbox 360 gaming headset …. essentially their 5H headset with a clever adapter which allowed you to plug it into an Xbox controller for Xbox Live chat.  Not to rest on their laurels, the SteelSeries' boffins have been working hard behind the scenes to develop a new Xbox headset with a number of exciting features.

Today we are going to look at the SteelSeries Spectrum 7XB Xbox 360 headset which sits right at the top of SteelSeries' range of headsets.  Even though it shares some of its DNA with the 7H, the 7XB is an all new product that boasts features that we've never seen before on SteelSeries' headsets, such as wireless connectivity.

Like the other Xbox 360 headsets they produce, the 7XB is also compatible with the PC platform,  so we will be throwing all of our usual PC tests at it, as well as those based around the Xbox 360 console.

  1. Looks fantastic IMO. lovely styling, very traditional.

That price however is insane. Can get an audiophile headset for that price, or close to it.

  2. Great products. ive just ordered a mouse from them 🙂 expensive but quality

  3. big steelseries fan here, recently been getting into Razer more. they seem to do a lot of crossover products for gamers. competitive battles are good for consumers.

Dont see Steelseries really being too concerned. I agree, this is about £30 too high in price IMO.

  4. I have an ikari mouse and I love it. My only concern with steelseries is their pricing. It seems to be going up all the time. They aren’t Apple.

  5. 150 euros? thats as much as I paid for my console. ill aim lower, probably wont get something as good, but I cant justify this. looks good too. shame.

  6. I dont mind paying more for steelseries. I own one of their headsets and it still looks new, even after 1 year of hard gaming all days. I do agree though ive been reading some of their reviews lately and I cant get my head around some of the pricing
