NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 and 3080 specifications have been leaked

With Nvidia's GeForce RTX 3000 series announcement coming in just three days, the specifications of the RTX 3090 and 3080 models seem to have been leaked. The source of the leaks also claims that Nvidia will be launching three new GPUs in September and that there will be a second variant of the RTX 3080 coming at a later date.

As per VideoCardz, Nvidia plans to launch the RTX 3090, the RTX 3080, and the RTX 3070 next month. Additionally, it seems that Nvidia AiB partners are planning to release a “beefier” RTX 3080 graphics card, featuring 20GB of GDDR6X memory. The release date of the 20GB variant of the RTX 3080 is not known yet.

Only the specifications of the RTX 3090 and 3080 have been leaked. Both are expected to use the 7nm process node and will be featuring 2nd Gen Ray-Tracing cores and 3rd Gen Tensor cores. Additionally, these graphics cards will support PCIe 4.0 interfaces, and HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 connectors.

The RTX 3090 will come with the GA102-300 GPU, featuring 5248 cores clocked at 1695MHz and 24GB of GDDR6X clocked at 19.5Gbps. This will be paired with a 384-bit bus, resulting in a maximum bandwidth of 936GBps. This graphics card will be powered by two VGA 8-pin power connectors and with a TGP rated at 350W.

The RTX 3080 will be using the GA102-200 GPU, with 4352 cores clocked at 1710MHz and 10Gb of GDDR6X memory clocked at 19Gbps. This results in a maximum bandwidth of 760Gbps thanks to its 320-bit bus. The TGP will be 320W and will also use dual VGA 8-pin power connectors.

The RTX 3070 didn't have much of its specifications leaked, but the 8GB of GDDR6 memory is confirmed. The expected TGP sits at 220W and the memory should come clocked at 16Gbps and use a 256-bit bus. Everything else is still unconfirmed.

KitGuru says: Would you choose the 20GB variant of the RTX 3080 over the standard 10GB variant? Are the specifications in line with what you were expecting?
