SkyBox is a credit card-sized wireless SSD with up to 4TB of storage

This week, the SkyBox was announced. This is a small and compact SSD with both wired and wireless connectivity options for streaming and backing up data with universal compatibility for all devices. It also comes in capacities up to 4TB, hitting a range of price points and user needs. 

The pocket-sized SkyBox can easily fit in your pocket, making it easy to transport anywhere, anytime. Perfectly suited to be used with smartphones and cameras, this portable SSD features WiFi 6 technology to ensure transfer speeds of up to 900Mbps, wirelessly. The SkyBox Pro (4TB model) has a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2×2 interface that allows you to transfer data with speeds of up to 2200Mbps, 4x faster than SATA SSDs.

The One-Touch Copy allows you to make a quick backup of your device, be it a laptop, smartphone, or tablet, with a single touch. Through SkyBox app and integrations, you can easily navigate through your personal stored files using an “intuitive user interface” and integrate with other apps to create and edit your files.

You can upgrade your SkyBox with the SkyCloud Dock to create a personal cloud, allowing you to access it on-the-go, wherever you are. The SkyBox project has been crowdfunded on Indiegogo with a fixed goal of €8,735. This project reached its goal thanks to 462 backers that pledged a total of €120,367.

The SkyBox is now available for pre-order, starting at $99 for the 512GB model and going up to $479 for the 4TB model. The shipping date is estimated to be in December. The SkyCloud Dock will is also available for pre-order for $39.
