Project xCloud streaming comes to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate in September

Microsoft has long been open about the fact that one day, Project xCloud will become part of the Xbox Game Pass service. Now, we have a date on that, with xCloud streaming becoming part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership tier in September.

“This September, in supported countries, we’re bringing Xbox Game Pass and Project xCloud together at no additional cost for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members”, the announcement reads. “With cloud gaming in Game Pass Ultimate, you will be able to play over 100 Xbox Game Pass titles on your phone or tablet. And because Xbox Live connects across devices, you can play along with the nearly 100 million Xbox Live players around the world. So when Halo Infinite launches, you and your friends can play together and immerse yourselves in the Halo universe as Master Chief—anywhere you go and across devices.”

Right now, Xbox Game Pass costs £7.99 for a single platform and jumps up to £10.99 per month for an Ultimate membership, which includes Game Pass on console and PC as well as access to Xbox Live Gold.

For now, we don't know how much xCloud will cost as a standalone service outside of Game Pass Ultimate, or when it will be made available as a standalone subscription. However, we should find more next month, as Microsoft is rumoured to begin discussing more platform details next month.
