Mad Catz releases two new F.R.E.Q. gaming headsets

Mad Catz has just launched two new F.R.E.Q. gaming headsets. The F.R.E.Q. 2 and the F.R.E.Q.4 were designed to offer a comfortable feel while delivering “professional grade sound quality”, for an immersive gaming experience. With the launch of these headsets, Mad Catz plans to integrate its signature design in multiple audio solutions for the gaming audio market.

As per TechPowerUp, the earcups of these headsets are made of memory foam to offer the best possible comfort while gaming. The inline controller allows you to adjust the volume, and the headbands of the F.R.E.Q. headsets are adjusted automatically thanks to its suspension system, while the retractable microphone can be concealed inside the headsets' body.

The F.R.E.Q. 2 is aimed at both “competitive gamers” and “everyday players”. Thanks to its 40mm neodymium drivers, with a frequency response of 20Hz ~ 20kHz, 105dB ± 3dB of sensitivity, and 32 Ω of impedance, Mad Catz says the F.R.E.Q. 2 delivers high-quality audio and incredible soundstage to easily pinpoint the source of certain sound. The F.R.E.Q. 2 uses a 3.5mm connection, and it's compatible with PC, Mac, PS4, Xbox One, and mobile devices.

Featuring virtual 7.1 surround-sound, the F.R.E.Q. 4 goes beyond the F.R.E.Q. 2 thanks to its 50mm neodymium drivers, offering a frequency response of 20Hz ~ 20kHz, 115dB ± 3dB of sensitivity, and 32 Ω of impedance. The noise-cancelling microphone offers clear audio “without any background noise”. Additionally, you can use Mad Catz software to configure the audio settings, as well as the built-in Chameleon RGB lighting.

The F.R.E.Q. headphones are available now in some regions. Pricing varies between regions, but it's expected that the F.R.E.Q. 2 should be around £60, while the F.R.E.Q. 4 should be about £90. For more details on the F.R.E.Q. 2, click HERE, and for the F.R.E.Q. 4, click HERE.
