Any time a creative game like Dreams is released, you run the risk of opening up for fan creations that breach copyright. Since launch, many fan projects have flown under the radar for Dreams on PS4 but now, some publishers are starting to catch on, with Nintendo reportedly starting to go after Mario-themed creations. 

Media Molecule released Dreams on PS4 earlier this year after an extensive beta testing period. As reported by Nintendo Everything, some creators are now getting complaints for publishing works based on Nintendo IP.

The first creator to be targeted appears to be Piece_of_Craft, who released a Super Mario rig for Twitch streamers. The project has since been taken down on Dreams and could signal more action in the future.

So far, Nintendo is the only major publisher we know about but we'll be keeping an eye out for more situations like this moving forward. In the meantime, if any of you are playing Dreams, maybe don't upload anything based on Nintendo IP to avoid issues.

KitGuru Says: It is always a shame when fan creations get taken down over copyright concerns, but at the same time, Nintendo is well known for protecting its IP and making moves against things like this, so it isn't entirely unexpected.
