New leaked Huawei tablet looks suspiciously like an iPad Pro

It would appear that Chinese companies love to be inspired by Apple’s hardware designs. Following the recent leaks that Xiaomi is planning on releasing a smartwatch which is heavily inspired by the Apple Watch, Huawei appears to also be looking at Apple for inspiration – this time for its upcoming tablet.

Huawei has consistently released a series of midrange Android tablets under the MediaPad brand, but it looks like this next tablet, rumoured to be called the MatePad Pro, will be targeting the high-end market. High-end tablets require a high-end design, and so Huawei has seemingly turned to Apple for help in that aspect.

The leaked images, brought to light by 91mobiles, show a tablet that looks suspiciously similar to the iPad Pro, except for the fact that it features a hole-punch camera in the corner. The leaked images also show a collection of accessories, likewise seemingly plucked straight from Apple’s design lab.

The tablet will release with a magnetic keyboard accessory which to no one’s surprise, looks like Apple’s magnetic keyboard. The tablet will also feature a stylus, which could easily be mistaken for the second generation Apple pencil, save for its silver colour. The stylus appears to attach magnetically to either the side or the top of the tablet.

The rumoured specs for the tablet include an in-display fingerprint scanner, Huawei’s Kirin 990 SoC, 8GB of ram, and up to 256GB of storage. The tablet is expected to launch early next year.
