Over the last year, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners have had the chance to roam around Rockstar's depiction of the US Wild West era in the form of Red Dead Redemption 2. We all assumed the game would be coming to PC eventually, as plenty of evidence has leaked out. Now, we don't need to rely on leaks or rumours anymore as Rockstar has dropped the surprise announcement for Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC. More impressively, it is actually coming out really soon, with a release date set for November.
There was speculation as to whether or not Red Dead Redemption 2 would come to PC at all. Leaks eventually dispelled that idea but since Red Dead Redemption 1 never made it over from the Xbox 360 and PS3, there was certainly room for doubt. Fortunately, we are getting Red Dead Redemption 2, which is a prequel to the original game, so PC-only players won't need to worry about not being up to date on the story.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is launching for PC on the 5th of November with a full range of graphical and technical enhancements to take full advantage of the platform. The PC launch will also include new story mode content, including bounty missions, gang hideouts and more.
As expected, Red Dead Redemption 2 will be sold on the new Rockstar Games Launcher, although it won't be exclusive to the store. Instead, Rockstar is hoping to sway you into buying on its own platform by offering a limited time game bundle with all pre-orders. If you pre-order the game through the Rockstar Games Launcher between the 9th of October and the 22nd of October, you will also get Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City and San Andreas, in addition to Bully: Scholarship Edition, L.A Noire: The Complete Edition and Max Payne 3.
Pre-orders made on the Rockstar Games Launcher also include $20 discounts for the special and ultimate editions of the game, on top of several in-game bonuses, including the Outlaw Survival Kit, War Horse, Treasure Map, extra cash to get you started in story mode and 50 Gold Bars in Red Dead Online.
As for other stores, Red Dead Redemption is confirmed to appear on the Epic Games Store, Greenman Gaming, the Humble Store and ‘additional digital retailers'. Rockstar's Launcher opens up pre-orders early on the 9th of October, while other stores will begin accepting pre-orders on the 23rd of October. The game will also come to Steam later on in December.
KitGuru Says: Rockstar is trying to make a value-driven play for customers to buy the game on their launcher, which is a nice change of pace. Six games, discounts and extra in-game bonuses are pretty solid offerings, although Steam will likely remain the preferred platform for many, even if it launches a bit later than everywhere else. Are any of you looking forward to Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC? I'm certainly surprised that it is coming this early. If I were a betting man, I certainly would have put my money on Q1 2020.
