Apple restrict retail employee holidays in May

Apple retail employees have been told this week that they can not request vacations days in late May, hinting at something special planned for the 10th anniversary of the retail stores.

The employees all received an email that they may not request days off between May 20th and May 22nd. Apparently store managers are ‘very excited' about the dates, but no details have been forthcoming as to why.

Industry insiders have indicated that Apple may use those days for a 10th anniversary event celebrating 10 years of Apple retail stores, hinting at a promotional campaign and even some special offers to attract customers.

New Apple products are due to be announced within the next couple of weeks, particularly a refresh to Apple's iMac all in one desktop range. This would not be deemed an important enough event for Apple to blacklist employee holidays however and with the iPhone 5 scheduled for later this year, another product launch is unlikely.

KitGuru says: We can only wait and see what Apple have planned, but you can be sure that the information will leak before Apple officially announce it.
