Borderlands 3 gameplay revealed

It has been just over one month since Gearbox first announced Borderlands 3 and during that time, there has been a lot of buzz surrounding the game. We've heard bits and pieces about the game, seen two trailers and even gone through some drama surrounding PC store exclusivity. Now with all of that out of the way, Gearbox is ready to show off actual gameplay.

The previous trailers for Borderlands 3 were mostly cinematic, with little footage showing off the gameplay changes planned. As part of a long, live-streamed event, Gearbox has begun showcasing gameplay. You can see the event in the video below:

Borderlands 3 will come with a number of changes. For starters, there is now the option to have shared loot with co-op partners, or instance loot on a player by player basis. Speaking of loot, one of the big features of Borderlands 3 is the sheer amount of new weapons available. This time around, you will get more unique combat tools and guns with multiple firing modes. Elemental weapons can swap between elements and environmental hazards can be put to good use.

Level balancing is in place, so if you are playing with someone higher or lower than you, enemy difficulty will be balanced in a way that offers a challenge for both players involved. You will also only receive loot that is appropriate for your level, so you won't run into a situation where you pick up a cool gun and can't use it for another hour or so.

Borderlands 3 will be shown off again during E3, so expect to hear more next month. In the meantime, the game is still set to release on the 13th of September for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The game will be an Epic Games Store exclusive on PC for the first few months, but should become available on Steam in March or April 2020.

KitGuru Says: Borderlands 3 looks fun but at this point, I have played too many loot-based games throughout this console generation. Are any of you looking forward to Borderlands 3? Will you be picking it up at launch?
