Fallout 76’s first patch of the year will arrive early with over 150 bug fixes

Originally supposed to arrive on January 14th, Bethesda has announced that Fallout 76’s first patch of 2019 will instead be arriving four days earlier and it certainly isn’t small. As previously revealed, the update is packed with more than “150 fixes” that will “address many issues raised by the community.”

Bethesda will be continuing the trend of releasing the update on PC first ahead of consoles, which will require various tweaks before arriving the week after. As promised, the developer will be accompanying this will a full set of detailed patch notes, so be prepared for an essay given that there are a staggering 150+ fixes.

Many of these fixes come from listening to the community, which has been an important step for Bethesda when it comes to regaining the trust of the Fallout community. Particularly, the patch will address a variety of issues previously voiced by players, including fixes for Challenges and quests, Perks and weapons, and quelling exploits. Beyond this, there should be a step up in performance and stability.

Despite how comprehensive the update is, this will not be the only patch that players receive in January. Bethesda has promised another sizeable update near the end of the month that will instead look into fixing the number of plans Vendors have available, Legendary mods and continuing to build on problems with some of the Perks.

The first patch will arrive today, Thursday 10th January at 9am Eastern Time, which translates to 2pm GMT here in the UK. The second update has yet to receive a specific date of release.

KitGuru Says: While I feel that much of this should have perhaps come before the game launched, Bethesda’s dedication to Fallout 76 as a games-as-a-service model is still pretty impressive. Are you still playing the game? What do you think of the improvements teased for Fallout 76, and what do you want to see in the future?
