Jade Raymond leaves EA and Motive Studios

Earlier this year, it was announced that EA's Patrick Soderlund would be leaving the company. Now, the publisher is losing another high-profile executive, as Jade Raymond will be stepping down after three years. Upon joining EA, she headed up EA Motive, the studio that took over Visceral's Star Wars project after getting shut down.

Prior to joining EA in 2015, Raymond had a long career at Ubisoft, kicking off the Assassin's Creed franchise, in addition to working on Splinter Cell Blacklist and Far Cry 4. We don't know where she will land next yet, but EA has a replacement already lined up.

With Raymond leaving EA behind, the Motive studio will now be lead by Samantha Ryan, who has been responsible for EA Mobile, Maxis and BioWare. The studio's current projects remain unchanged, so the Star Wars game will continue to be developed.

During her time in the industry, Samantha Ryan has had roles on titles like The Sims, Batman: Arkham City and most recently, Anthem.

KitGuru Says: EA has certainly gone through a shift over the last year. Visceral was closed, Amy Hennig left, Patrick Soderlund is leaving and now Jade Raymond is moving on. It will be interesting to see where all of these people land next.
