PC owners of Dark Souls will get a discount on the remaster after all

Shortly after Dark Souls: Remastered was first announced, publisher Bandai Namco mistakenly listed a ‘loyalty discount' for owners of the original game on PC, which would give them a 50 percent discount. At the time, they denied that such a discount would exist, but since then it looks like plans have changed.

Those who already own Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition on Steam will get a discount on the remaster when it launches on the 25th of May. Owners of the original game will be able to upgrade at half price, meaning you can get the game for £20/$20 instead of £40/$40.

However, in preparation for the remaster, Bandai Namco will be removing Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition from Steam entirely. The game will no longer be sold as of the 9th of May, so new players will only be able to pick up the remastered version.

KitGuru Says: It's always nice to see remaster ‘loyalty discounts' in place for those who bought games when they first came out. Will any of you be picking up Dark Souls: Remastered next month? I think I might dive back in myself, though I did have my mind set on the Switch version, which has since been delayed.
