AOC’s G90 series frameless high refresh-rate monitors will land in the UK this month

This time last year, AOC began venturing into the world of ‘frameless' monitors, ditching bezels and creating more appealing displays, particularly for those who like to have multi-monitor setups. Now this year, AOC is expanding on its G90 range, with three new ‘frameless' gaming displays, each equipped with higher refresh rates, breaking the bounds of 60Hz.

There are three new G90 series monitors, two 24-inch models and one 27-inch one. All of them come with a 1920×1080 resolution TN panel, 1ms GtG response time and support AMD FreeSync for variable refresh rates. The key difference between each one is the native refresh rate of the monitor. The G2590VXQ has an MSRP of £159 and has a 75Hz refresh rate, meanwhile the G2590PX has an MSRP of £349 and has a 144Hz refresh rate. Finally, the 27-inch G2790PX comes with an MSRP of £309 and also has a 144Hz refresh rate.

Each monitor utilises AOC's 3-sided frameless design, which essentially means minimal bezel on the top and sides, though the monitor will have a bit of a chin. Either way, this design choice makes these monitors perfect for lining up side by side for triple-screen gaming, or just general use.

In terms of connectivity, you'll get 2 HDMI ports, one DisplayPort and a VGA output on all three monitors. The two 144Hz models come with a built in USB 3.0 hub too.

All three monitors should be popping up at retailers imminently. We had a quick look at Overclockers UK and SCAN but couldn't find any in stock just yet. However, availability should be coming shortly, so if you are interested, then keep an eye out.

KitGuru Says: I would have liked to have seen a 1440p option, but perhaps that will come a bit later. Are any of you currently shopping around for a new gaming monitor? Would you go for something like this for a multi-monitor setup?
