OnePlus 5T pre-orders go live after launch event next week

Over the past few weeks, the somewhat official OnePlus 5T has been cropping up in a number of leaks that speculate its launch date and how it will look. This information has begun to fall in line, as the company has announced that pre-orders for the new device will begin next week.

The long-speculated smartphone was confirmed by OnePlus last week, stating that it was retaining a feature many hold dead: the headphone jack. The teased launch date of November 16th has now been affirmed, as the company has said that its new 5T handset will be available in the UK “exclusively” from the O2 network straight after its New York event. Specifically, this is from 5:15pm GMT, with O2 catering to its customers online and over the phone.

This exclusive period will last less than a week, however, with OnePlus taking orders for the device outright on its website from 2pm on November 21st. O2’s exclusivity mimics its partnership with OnePlus over its last release, which is still unavailable on any other network. Unfortunately, this does mean that you’re likely stuck for options if you want the OnePlus 5T in the UK.

Currently, not much is confirmed ahead of the OnePlus 5T’s November 16th launch aside from its slim bezel design and return of the headphone jack. Here’s hoping that the company launch the device at the competitive prices it is known for.

KitGuru Says: The OnePlus 5T will potentially give the aesthetics and some of the functionality of higher end handsets to the mid-range price model if expectations are correct. That being said, UK customers being limited to solely O2 is a bit of a bummer, despite that currently being my network of choice anyway. Will you be picking up the OnePlus 5T?
