Destiny 2 pre-load is live, PC system requirements finalised and game unlock times revealed

Destiny 2 is just less than two weeks away from launching on PC. We've already had a taste of what's to come thanks to the beta but after some additional tweaking, Bungie has revealed the final PC system requirements for the game. On top of that, we now know the unlock times for Destiny 2 on PC in each region.

Those of you waiting to jump in to Destiny 2 on PC will be able to do so starting from the 24th of October. However, the game will unlock at different times depending on your region. Here in the UK, the game unlocks at 6PM on the 24th. In European time zones it will unlock at 7PM. Over on the US East Coast, it will unlock at 1PM in the afternoon and on the West Coast, it will unlock at 10AM.

If you want to double check your PC is up to the task, here are the minimum requirements for the game:

  • CPU: Intel Core i3-3250 or Pentium G4560. AMD FX-4350 or better.
  • GPU: Nvidia GTX 660 or GTX 1050. Radeon HD 7850 or better.
  • RAM: 6GB

Here are the recommended system specs:

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-2400 or Ryzen 5 1600X.
  • GPU: Nvidia GTX 970/GTX 1060. AMD Radeon R9 390 or better.
  • RAM: 8GB.

The game comes in at a massive 68GB in size, so be prepared for a hefty download. If you want to get a head start on the download and install, then you can start pre-loading Destiny 2 in Battle.net right now.

KitGuru Says: As much as I have been tempted by the console version, I have managed to stay off of Destiny 2 in the lead-up to the PC version. I'll be looking forward to checking everything out at launch in a couple of weeks. Are any of you planning on getting Destiny 2?  Are you waiting to see how the PC version turns out first?
