Logitech G increases wireless line-up with new mouse and keyboard

Logitech is boosting its range of wireless gaming peripherals again, launching the G613 mechanical keyboard and G603 mouse. Despite operating on two AA batteries each, Logitech claims that both devices will last a staggeringly long time.

The G613 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard boasts Logitech’s Romer-G mechanical switches, as well as making use of the new Lightspeed wireless technology. This is relatively new to keyboards, despite wireless mice having had a place in gaming for quite some time. Drawing power from just two AA batteries, Logitech claims that the keyboard can last up to 18 months, varying somewhat depending on your setup.

This is a full sized keyboard, plus the addition of six programmable macro keys, complete by a palm rest.

The G603 Wireless Mouse is somewhat plain in its design, echoing other Logitech releases, but this is the company’s signature as of late. Also powered by AA batteries, it can last up to 500 hours of steady use, again depending on your particular setup.

The optical sensor is brand new, dubbed Hero. It is built to be a more power efficient sensor than the Pixart PMW3366 found in the G903, but retaining similar tracking and accuracy. This ranges up to 12,000 DPI, which falls shorter than the 16,000 of the new Razer Basilisk but both are much higher than most people need. Making use of the Lightspeed wireless tech, the mouse offers 1ms response time, also this is adjustable with a power saving mode that increases it to 8ms.

You can pre-order both directly from the website before their release later this month, with the G613 Keyboard and G603 Mouse priced at £129.99/$150 and £69.99/$69.99 respectively

KitGuru Says: An interesting line-up from Logitech, and with wireless tech nowadays being negligible while gaming, it might be time to make the jump over. Does the G613 or G603 interest you?
