The Asus Designo MX34VQ brings QHD, superior sound and wireless charging

Asus is well known for its gaming monitors around here but the company also delivers some excellent professional-grade monitors too. Today, Asus is launching the Designo Curve MX34VQ, a 3440×1440 ultra-wide display with built in Qi wireless charging in the base and superior built-in sound co-developed by Harmon/Kardon.

This is a 34-inch ultra-wide display, so you will be able to make good use of those extra pixels while multi-tasking, editing or even kicking back and watching a movie. It also comes with an 1800R curvature to give you a wider field of view. The built-in Qi wireless charger found in the base of the stand should also help keep your phone juiced, as long as your smartphone supports it.

This particular monitor also stands out with its built-in speakers. Normally, monitor speakers are a waste of time but with this monitor, Asus has teamed up with Harmon/Kardon to develop SonicMaster technology, which aims to provide superior audio quality through a pair of 8-qatt internal speakers. It might not replace a pair of dedicated speakers with a subwoofer but it should make for a good alternative if you need to save space, or don't want to spend extra on sound.

Finally, this panel also comes with ASUS Eye Care technology, which is essentially a blue light filter mode to make the image easier on the eyes. There is also a flicker-free function to help make the viewing experience as comfortable as possible.

The Asus Designo Curve MX34VQ will be available from the 20th March here in the UK with a recommended price tag of £749.99.

KitGuru Says: There have been quite a few times where I have considered picking up a 3440×1440 ultra-wide monitor like this but I haven't made the jump quite yet, my dual-monitor setup still does the job for now. Are any of you looking to pick up a 3440×1440 ultra-wide monitor at some point this year?

  1. If I were to spend £749.99 on a monitor then I’d certainly be able to afford proper speakers rather than the ‘8-qatt’ built in ones lol :p
