Valve has sold over 500,000 Steam Controllers

Valve's journey into producing its own hardware started all the way back in 2013, when it first revealed the Steam Machines and Steam Controller. The controller itself went through many changes in the two years leading up to release but it seems that quite a few were interested enough to buy the final product as Valve has managed to sell 500,000 Steam Controllers.

In a blog post last night, Valve confirmed the sales figure but also noted that every sale is also a chance to gather more feedback to improve things in the future.

Steam Controller

“We're excited to announce that over half a million Steam Controllers have been sold. With every controller that comes online we get the opportunity to get more feedback on how to make the Steam Controller even better. We've been hard at work with the community, and wanted to share some of the recent improvements we've made together.”

Some features added to the Steam controller over time due to feedback include more support for new titles right out of the box, rumble pass-through, apply a controller configuration to all games, VR support and more. Valve added that it would be adding more configuration features and options soon.

KitGuru Says: The Steam Controller has been an interesting product and it seems to have improved quite a bit over time. Do any of you currently use a Steam Controller? Would you recommend one?
