VR mini golf could be perfect for limited room-scale VR

As much as many people love the idea of room-scale virtual reality, the ‘reality' is that most won't have the space for it. What might be possible for a lot of people though, is a small scale room, a few metres by a few metres of clear space. That will be great for Hover Junkers, but it could also be perfect for virtual reality minigolf.

That's what's exciting about Cloudlands, a game being developed by Futuretown, that has you playing mini golf in the sky. Jump bridges, go down elaborate pipe networks or fling the ball across canyons, it's all doable because it's a computer game, but letting you play in a VR setting with a relaxing soundtracks sounds like a perfect mix. Designed for the HTC Vive at this time, the developers have promised to work on Touch support next for the Oculus Rift and will also be including multiplayer at some point in the future.

Better yet though, this isn't even the only minigolf VR game. MiniGolfVR is another project in the works that takes you into space, uses teleporters and has many other thematic levels to play around with. [yframe url='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsO74mqz0d4′]

KitGuru Says: As many commenters have said, one of the most exciting things about VR games, is that they are the kind of games you would never want to play on a 2D display. I'm actually excited for a fishing game again.
