CD Projekt Red has been winning plenty of awards over the last few weeks thanks to the launch of The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, which has been received and praised as one of the best games of the year. However, the development team isn't done with Geralt just yet, as we still have one more expansion to look forward to, which was teased earlier this week.
We have known about the Blood and Wine expansion for a while, though CD Projekt Red has been pretty quiet on its development, though it looks like Marcin Momot, the game's community manager, just couldn't help himself, saying on Twitter: “In a meeting looking at all these new features/changes coming to @witchergame with #BloodandWine expansion pack. One word – AWESOME!”
Unfortunately, he wouldn't elaborate any further than that, but it seems that in addition to new content, we will also be seeing changes made to features implemented in the original product based on feedback over the course of this year. The new expansion is said to be around the same length as The Witcher 2, so we can expect plenty of content.
The expansion's description currently reads: “a 20-hour tale that will introduce the all-new in-game region of Toussaint and will take Geralt to a land untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret.”
For those of you who want to venture back to Velen before Blood and Wine comes out, CDPR did release the Hearts of Stone expansion back in October, which is well worth playing in my opinion.
KitGuru Says: The Witcher 3 is still my favourite game of the year, I'm even still going back every now and then for my New Game+ playthrough. Are any of you still playing The Witcher? Will you be getting the Blood and Wine expansion when it arrives?
I need to find the time to play more Witcher 3. That was a damn fine gaming experience.

had the game since launch, still haven’t played it. at this point i think i’m going to wait until the expansions release so i can get the best experience possible.

The game is massive. Just doing everything without expansions takes around 200 hours.
Playing to game from launch would have gave you enough time to beat everything in time for the new expansions.
My god you’re stupid!

Let me know in late 2017 when you beat everything in game.

sorry, some people actually have a life.

That’s why you’re stupid to wait. If you have a life and somehow play an hour a day starting today, you just maybe will finish the whole game before 2017.

200 hrs is a very conservative estimated. I beat the game with 220hrs. I explored probably 90% of Velen and Novrgards, but left out most of the Skellige unexplored. I think you will need at least 350hrs to finish every single quests in Witcher 3.
What really sucks is that after you beat the game, everything resets to right before the final quest, and all the main characters disappeared from the map, makes you feel really alone in the game.
I think what I would do is restart New Game+ and finish everything before act 3 begins.

I agree.. Witcher 3 is awesome… I installed Heart of Stone but i didn’t play it yet becouse i want to last forever! =P .. And I want Triss back!..
I got Witcher 2 years ago for free, bundled with a graphics card. Never played it. However, I did put over 200 hours into Dragon Age: Inquisition and probably even more into Dragon Age: Origins/Awakening.
Same here, actually decided to do this when they announced the expansions. But I’ve also had the game since day 1+expansions from day 1. I actually enjoy supporting devs that give back to their fans like CDPR.
i haven’t played it yet either, because i wanna play the best version from the start and considering the 2nd expansion will add a lot of new features, is it really worth waiting?
