Apple’s Watch OS 2 is now available for download

Last week, a bug was discovered with Apple's Watch OS 2, just two hours before it was set to be put out for users to download and installed. As a result, the update was delayed, though at the time, Apple had yet to announce a new launch date. Now, Watch OS 2 is available, so Apple Watch owners can update.

The biggest thing about this new update is the ability to run native applications on the Apple Watch itself, removing the need for it to be constantly tethered to an iPhone to do anything. Watch OS 2 was initially announced back in June at the World Wide Developers Conference.

The new update will give developers more options when it comes to the Apple Watch, which will hopefully result in a better experience for watch owners. There will also be new watch faces along with improvements to core functionality like Siri or Maps.

Some users have been unable to get the update so far, with a few complaints voiced on Twitter. However, this is likely due to the amount of people attempting to download at once so things should clear up fairly soon.

KitGuru Says: Apple's Watch OS 2 is going to be a huge update for developers wanting to make apps for the wearable. It will be interesting to see exactly what can be done with the hardware inside the watch itself.
