Rainbow Six Siege pushed back to December

Rainbow Six Siege, Ubisoft's upcoming team based shooter was announced some time ago, with an alpha taking place earlier this year and a beta test scheduled for the end of September. The game was originally supposed to release in October but it seems the development team needs a bit more time, so the game will now be launching in December instead.

The team will be using this extra time to improve the “co-op experience across all game modes, weapon and gadget balancing as well as menu and interface navigation”. From the sounds of it, the game will be getting a bit of a UI change, networking issues will be worked on and the weapons will be balanced.

The game's beta test will still take place on the 24th of September. This delay also means that the October/November release schedule is now slightly less crowded. The decision to delay the game was made in part due to player feedback from E3 and Gamescom gameplay sessions.

Ubisoft has begun taking a more lenient approach to game delays, obsessing less over hitting crucial release windows and focussing a bit more on ensuring the product is up to scratch. Sure, that didn't happen last year with its biggest release of the year, Assassin's Creed: Unity, but it did happen with Watch Dogs and more recently, The Division.

Rainbow Six Siege will now launch on the 1st of December, rather than the 13th of October, world wide on all scheduled platforms.

KitGuru Says: I played the alpha for Rainbow Six Siege and it was an alright game, though I'm not too sure I'd spend much time on it. I might give the beta a shot next month and see how things have changed. Did any of you play the Rainbow Six alpha earlier this year? Were you looking forward to this game?

Graphics look dated…as I don’t buy UBISOFT games anymore I won’t be buying, though will try the beta if its free. (Ubisoft hate PC gamers but like the money they make from them. Crazy isn’t it?)
