Google launch Chrome OS

Google have launched Chrome OS in their continued expansion into other areas of software. Chrome OS is released as a trial program that users can register for online and will eventually be offered preinstalled on a wide range of computers made by global names such as Samsung and Acer.

The trial program will be offered on a small scale for testing and feedback and in time Google's new operating system should be offered as a low cost option when purchasing a laptop or desktop system from a manufacturer.

Sundar Pichai and Linus Upson wrote on the Google Blog “he test notebooks exist only to test the software they are black, have no branding, no logos, no stickers, nothing. They do have 12.1 inch screens, full-sized keyboards and touch pads, integrated 3G from Verizon, eight hours of battery life and eight days of standby time. Chrome notebooks are designed to reach the web instantly”.

KitGuru says: This will reduce system costs for many people when ordering online. But is it capable of being used for all demands?
