AOC shows off new 25″ QHD display

Making the decision about whether to jump to a 4K display is a difficult one right now. The content isn't really there and unless you have a monstrous system and a compatible title, playing games at that sort of detail level is rarely a smooth experience. Why not then update your 1080p monitor to a QHD (2560×1440) one instead? AOC's new Q2577PWQ, professionally orientated IPS panel comes in at 25″ with a flicker-free design and a host of connectivity options, making it easy on the eyes and simple to connect to whatever system you are running.

While the monitor is designed with photographers, editors and other enterprise users in mind, AOC is keen to point to out that this is a display that works in many different scenarios. Due to its high quality imagery and colouring, it makes for a solid entertainment viewing platform too and with a response time of 5ms, it will be fine for most games.

Ports are many and varied, including DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI and VGA, the idea being that both a PC and games console could be hooked up to it at the same time. The Q2577PWQ also features height adjustment, pivoting, swivel and tilt adjustment, so tweaking the display to sit in a comfortable position for the viewer shouldn't be problematic.

Set for release in June this year, the new panel will have a suggested retail price of £330.

KitGuru Says: While I might want a slightly better refresh rate for my main gaming display, something like this will probably be what I replace my aging 1080P LCD panels with. They're workhorses, but they seem monstrously thick compared to the LED monitors that are common place today.
