20GB patch brings justice system to ESO

The Elder Scrolls Online just received its biggest patch yet, measuring in at 20GB. Patch six prepares the game for its upcoming change in business model and also adds in a few new systems, including the long-awaited Justice system.

The gameplay has been rebalanced to the extent that all skill points are being reset. on top of that, the new justice system will allow players to commit criminal actions like murder of theft. If caught, you will become a wanted person.

Like in the main Elder Scrolls games, you will be able to bribe your way out of trouble and run off with the stolen goods. On the other side, the game's new Champion system awards champion points, which can be spent on new passive abilities.

There will also be changes made to the game's tutorial, the collections system and there is a whole load of game fixes as well.

Most importantly is the set up for the upcoming change in business model, as a result, the crown store will be in the game, although it won't be enabled until the 17th of March when Tamriel Unlimited officially launches on the PC and Mac.

After the 17th of March, you will no longer need a subscription in order to play The Elder Scrolls Online, although one will be offered and will give you certain perks each month, like DLC and crowns to spend at the store.

You can read the full patch notes, HERE.

KitGuru Says: This is the most important update for The Elder Scrolls Online so far and could really revamp the game and bring some players back, or even bring some new players in. From the sounds of it, the game is going to be fairly different from this point forward. Are any of you guys planning on giving TESO another shot once it drops its subscription in a couple of weeks?

I think I’ll try it out with this patch, was undecided before, but this sounds pretty damn awesome

is been a while i whant to play it but im soo poor so i can’t till its become free

  3. Will it be a pay once or free to play?

If a free to play definately, loved Skyrim xD

F2P completely. But those who owned the original ($60) version of the game get full access to features.

No its not. It’s a pay once as you are required to buy the game and then it’s free to play. It’s basically the Guild Wars 2 price model. Also original owners get access to everything in the game currently in it but new content requires either the VIP subscription or purchase through the Crown store.

  6. 20GB patch = We released an unfinished game and you suckers still bought it.

  7. Almost a game.

  8. That’s nothing, back when “Auto Assault” was in CB (closed beta), the download was 25GB…it’s just too bad the game didn’t really take off.

  9. ESO was a $60 beta?
I think you’re attempting to compare a beta with retail. Why you would do that is anyone’s guess.

  10. and you suckers subscribed to it*

  11. pay once, initially they claimed it would be pay once but then released it as subscription, they’ve taken all the complaints about tha game now, after releasing such a bad decision they made, fixed and tweaked the game to high standard and now re-releasing it as a buy once game, with optional subscription for extra goodies

  12. “Auto Assault” was a retail product after the CB, and it had a monthly sub. So the comparison is the same!

  13. So why would you bring up the beta? Because it was 25GB? So what? 25GB for a beta is nothing, 20GB for a patch is TOTALLY different.

Oh and btw, liking your own comment is pretty pathetic.

  14. Oh look we got a smartass here.

“Those who already own The Elder Scrolls Online will not have to buy the game again and will be able to play without a monthly fee from March onward.”

  15. my statement is still correct, they already subscribed and have paid the monthly fee many times over, which is a significant amount more than simply purchasing the game
