Watch the Xbox One snap its apps here

While the Xbox One might be having all sorts of trouble when it comes to displaying games at 1080p and/or at 60 frames per second, one thing it is able to do is multi-task. If you're in a game and want to look something up through the Internet Explorer browser, you can do so without leaving the game. On top of that though, you can snap the app you're using to the side of the screen, so you can use both at the same time to some extent. [yframe url='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXHtrSV3yEA']

This would be a handy feature for checking walkthroughs or character movesets if they aren't listed in some sort of help section. You can watch the tutorial video or read the instructions on the same screen and perform it live.

The only problem in the following instance though, is that Killer Instincts doesn't pause when you're accessing the app, so the timer just keeps ticking down, meaning this would only be possible in the training mode, or when you're against a buddy that doesn't cheat and attack you when you're not looking. And let's face it, they all do. [yframe url='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnmOearbSR0′]

The only downside to the feature – beyond any resource hogging – is that you have to be signed in to Xbox Live to use most of the apps' features.

KitGuru Says: This seems like an interesting idea, especially for tough sections of a game. I'm not sure what else you'd use it for, but I have two screens for my PC, so I suppose having that functionality on a single one for your console is good? What do you guys think? [Cheers AGB]

Study shows massive sales lead for disc-based PS5 compared to digital

You know how it seems like every console maker wants us to go all-in on digital games? Well, it looks like they might want to pump the brakes on that idea. Why? Because the gamers have spoken, and they're shouting, "We love our disc drives!"

  1. I run a duel screen setup for my PC at home and at work, i’d be practically lost without it!
I wouldn’t like the idea of loosing space in the game for that info though, it looks a little intrusive and runs the risk of M$ putting adverts in it.
