Inno3d announce GTX470 ‘Hawk’ – 22c cooler

Inno3d have just announced their new Fermi designed card which features a massive custom cooler – they are claiming reduced temperatures of up to 22c which is rather incredible if accurate.

The Inno3d uses a cooler which devours a whopping 3 slots and uses two 80mm fans and a centered 90mm fan and although this could well be a recipe for noise pollution Inoo3d are claiming that their cooler adjusts fan speeds from 900 to 2,000 rpm which translates to a range between 18 and 30db. For reference nVidia's cooler hits almost 40db at full load so this not only translates to lower temperatures but a more peaceful user experience.

Inno3d are claiming full load temperatures of 70c in their own testing which reduces the 92c load from the reference cooler. Card specifications of the card are apparently set to reference speeds with a pair of DVI ports out and a single HDMI connection on offer.

KitGuru says: It was only a matter of time before a company opted to improve the cooling solution on the hot running Fermi. Many more to assuredly follow soon.
