AMD Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 395 “Strix Halo” APU benchmarked

AMD's highly anticipated Strix Halo APU has broken cover in a Geekbench leak, showcasing its impressive integrated graphics performance and confirming key specifications.

The Geekbench entry (via Benchleaks) reveals a “Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 395 w/ Radeon 8060S” APU, indicating that the flagship Strix Halo model will indeed feature the “Max” branding but without the “9” designation used in the Strix Point series. The inclusion of “Pro” suggests a workstation-focused variant, although it remains unclear whether a non-Pro version will be available.

The Geekbench listing also confirms that the Strix Halo APU packs 16 Zen 5 cores capable of boosting up to an impressive 5.1 GHz. With 32 MB of L3 cache per CCD, the APU packs 64 MB. Moreover, the entry also confirms the specs of the Radeon 8060S integrated graphics, aligning with previous rumors. This powerful iGPU boasts 40 CUs based on the RDNA 3.5 architecture and is expected to deliver a significant performance uplift over previous integrated solutions.

In the Geekbench Vulkan test, the Radeon 8060S scored 67,004 points. While this falls short of even the 28-CU Radeon RX 7600S discrete mobile GPU (77K points), it's important to remember that integrated graphics are inherently limited by their form factor and power constraints. Still, it's expected to offer a significant performance boost over previous iGPUs and potentially rival some entry-level discrete graphics cards from previous generations. AMD is expected to officially unveil the Strix Halo APU at CES 2025 next month.

KitGuru says: How do you think the Radeon 8060S will compare in gaming performance to the current lineup of entry-level mobile GPUs?
