“Something Switch 2-related happening this month” claims insider

After years of rumours, leaks and speculation, Nintendo finally confirmed that they are indeed working on a successor to the Nintendo Switch – stating that it will be revealed some time this fiscal year. According to one insider, it may actually be announced far sooner than expected.

Reported by known insider Christopher Dring via Twitter, the Gamesindustry.biz Head claimed that there have been “industry whispers around ‘something’ Switch 2-related happening this month.”

As mentioned, Nintendo previously stated that “we will be announcing the successor to the Switch during this fiscal year for the first time in nine years since we announced the existence of the Nintendo Switch in March 2015.”

Of course, this current fiscal year runs up until the end of March 2025, and so many fans were expecting an official unveiling some time closer to that period.

That said, “something Switch 2-related happening” isn’t exactly confirmation of an official reveal or anything of the sorts, and so we will simply have to wait and see what this ‘something’ is.
