Gran Turismo 7 update brings new vehicles, events and SophyAI 2.1

Polyphony Digital has kept Gran Turismo 7 fresh and interesting thanks to a solid number of consistent updates, bringing new cars; tracks; physics; features and more. The latest update – Patch 1.57 – brings with it some of the usual additions, as well as enhancements to the game’s SophyAI rival.

Making the announcement on the PlayStation Blog, SIE Senior Product Manager Ken Chan wrote, “Gran Turismo players! Update 1.57 for Gran Turismo 7 available as of Wednesday, March 26 at 10:00pm PT / March 27 at 5:00am GMT / 2:00pm JST.”

A mostly standard update for Gran Turismo 7 (with one exception), patch 1.57 brings with it:

  • Aston Martin Vintage ‘18
  • Mazda CX-30 X Smart Edition ‘21
  • Renault Kangoo 1.4 ‘01
  • Cafe menu additions
  • 3 new World Circuit events
  • ‘The Faroe Islands’ Scape

Last but certainly not least, this update brings with it a new version of the company’s advanced SophyAI driver.

Pitched as a more realistic take on how it would feel to race a real-world driver (with dynamic reactions and more), version 2.1 expands the functionality to custom races – letting you go up against Sophy across many more instances.

Hopefully this feature will only continue to improve and expand to more of the game over time. Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.57 is available now. The full list of changes and additions can be found HERE.
