Phasmophobia has already sold 20 million copies

Kinetic Games' acclaimed ghost-hunting title, Phasmophobia, has been an increasing success, further strengthened with its recent release on consoles. Since its initial release in Early Access on Steam in September 2020, the game has sold an astonishing 20 million copies across all platforms, including Steam, PlayStation 5/PS VR2, and Xbox Series X|S.

The console version finally launched after several delays, one of which was notably due to a fire at the developers' office. Initially scheduled for release in August 2023, Phasmophobia was released on consoles in Early Access on October 29th. Since the console launch, the game has sold over 250,000 copies (via GamesIndustry.biz), allowing it to reach the 20M mark on copies sold.

Although still in early access, the game has been decently received by the few critics who have reviewed it, currently with an 83 OpenCritic score (76% recommended). On Steam, however, the number of user reviews is immense, with over 715K already in its name. Of all of these reviews, a whopping 95% are positive.

In a move to reflect the extensive content added over the years, Kinetic Games implemented a price increase this September, pushing the game to £16.75/$19.99/€19.50. However, you can get it at a discounted price (-25%) during Steam Scream Fest.
