Intel XeSS 2 DLLs have leaked ahead of official launch

Intel's next-generation upscaling technology, XeSS 2, has seemingly leaked before its official release. Modders have gotten their hands on the XeSS 2 DLLs, offering a glimpse of what's to come for Intel's AI-powered upscaling, frame generation, and low-latency technology.

While Intel has yet to launch XeSS 2 officially, the leaked files available at Nexus Mods (via VideoCardz) suggest that the new version will include separate modules for upscaling (XeSS-SR) and frame generation (XeSS-FG). The leak also contains DLLs for Xe-LL, Intel's low-latency technology. Interestingly, the leaked files appear to include not only Intel's XeSS 2 DLLs but also Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR files.

However, it's important to note that these leaked DLLs are useful for modders and those comfortable with manually replacing game files. While the upscaling component of XeSS 2 should work without any major issues, the frame generation and low latency features require proper implementation by game developers. It remains unclear whether simply swapping the DLLs with Nvidia or AMD equivalents would enable XeSS-SR.

The leaked XeSS library, listed as version 1.3.2.38, is expected to be a drop-in replacement for existing XeSS implementations. Intel hasn't mentioned any significant changes to the upscaling portion of XeSS 2. The frame generation library, listed as version 0.9.11.9, will reportedly only work with Battlemage and Alchemist GPUs.
