Intel B860 and H810 and AMD B850 and B840 motherboards planned for January launch

Get ready for a wave of new motherboard options early next year, with Intel gearing up to launch its B860 and H810 chipsets while AMD is getting ready to launch the B840 and B850 chipsets. With these chipsets, both brands will offer a more affordable entry point for users building with their latest platforms.

These mid-range motherboards will bridge the gap between the existing flagship chipsets (Intel Z890 and AMD X870(E)) and the previous generation, providing a compelling option for budget-conscious gamers and system builders. While AMD already offers a wide range of X670 and B650 motherboards for its AM5 platform, the new B850 and B840 chipsets will provide a refreshed option for those seeking the latest features and potentially more refined designs.

On the other hand, Intel currently lacks a mid-range option for its LGA-1851 platform and its new Core Ultra 200 non-K series processors. The B860 and H810 chipsets will address this gap, providing a more affordable option for budget-minded gamers and users who don't require the high-end features of the Z890 chipset.

According to the Board Channels forum (via VideoCardz), Intel's B860 and H810 motherboards will be announced on January 7th and launched on January 13th. AMD's B850 and B840 boards are also expected to be announced on January 7th, but a launch on January 15th.

KitGuru says: Interested in any of Intel or AMD's new chipsets? If so, it looks like you won't have to wait much longer to get your hands on one of these.
