AMD Radeon RX 8000 GPUs to feature 18Gbps GDDR6 memory

A fresh report on the upcoming RDNA 4-based Radeon RX 8000 series has just been shared. As per a known leaker, the upcoming new-gen AMD graphics cards will use GDDR6 memory running at 18Gbps.

Recent reports suggest that the first RDNA 4 graphics cards will target the mid-range market, with Navi 48 and Navi 44-based graphics cards. These will reportedly power the RX 8800, RX 7600, RX 8600 and RX 8500 series graphics cards.

AMD has yet to confirm the release date of these GPUs or the scope of the RDNA 4 launch. However, Kepler claims the next-generation GPUs may use 18Gbps GDDR6 memory despite the planned mass manufacturing of faster GDDR7 memory by the end of this year.=

In comparison, the next-generation GeForce RTX 50 series is set to launch with 28Gbps GDDR7 memory. However, this performance does not even come close to the fastest GDDR7 rates suggested by memory manufacturers, which may reach 37Gbps.
