The HTC Butterfly is not headed to Europe afterall

After being announced nearly two weeks ago, it has been revealed that the ‘international' model of HTC's 1080p flagship device is not destined for European markets. Japanese and United States variants have already been announced and released in the form of the J Butterfly and Droid DNA.

Right now, the only market I am aware of where the HTC Butterfly will launch is Taiwan. Hopefully this should expand as more details are revealed in the coming weeks.

This latest news comes as retailer Expansys who had been taking pre-orders of the HTC Butterfly, issued this message to its customers;

“Thank you for your recent interest and preorder of the HTC Butterfly. Unfortunately, we have now been informed by HTC that this device will not be available in European markets, and as such we have had to remove it from our website and cancel your preorder.

KitGuru says: It seems apparent that HTC has another flagship device in mind for the European market that will likely be revealed at CES or MWC.

KitGuru Games: The Best Console is the One in Your Pocket

Emulation is the saving grace of the video games industry. Despite its controversial nature, the technology will be the only way in which all games are preserved for the future – free from licensing agreements and other such nonsense. Better still is the fact that in a majority of cases, emulation allows for a more accurate recreation of the game’s original experience than official offerings, due to countless complex shaders, filters and tweakable settings. And the best part? Thanks to the progression of technology, your humble smartphone is able to do all this and more – giving you the power of 10,000 games in the palm of your hand.
