Google Nexus 7 now receiving the Android 4.2 update

After receiving the minor Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update barely a month ago, the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update is now rolling out to the Google Nexus 7.

The clock application has also been improved in Android 4.2.

A new feature in this version of Android include multiple user support. Multiple user accounts can be added (each with a separate Google account), where each user has their own application data and settings. Other features include Gesture Typing (which is rather awkward on a 7 inch tablet) and lockscreen widgets which raise a few security questions. Of course there are the usual performance enhancements and bug fixes.

The update is gradually becoming available to users around the world and is 80.6 MB in size.

KitGuru says: One of the joys of Nexus devices, my Samsung Galaxy S III won't see this update for a few months.

KitGuru Games: The Best Console is the One in Your Pocket

Emulation is the saving grace of the video games industry. Despite its controversial nature, the technology will be the only way in which all games are preserved for the future – free from licensing agreements and other such nonsense. Better still is the fact that in a majority of cases, emulation allows for a more accurate recreation of the game’s original experience than official offerings, due to countless complex shaders, filters and tweakable settings. And the best part? Thanks to the progression of technology, your humble smartphone is able to do all this and more – giving you the power of 10,000 games in the palm of your hand.
