ASUS rumoured to be releasing a Nexus 7 with 3G connectivity

Google and ASUS have undoubtedly set a fire under the sale of Android tablets in recent months with the launch of the Nexus 7. However, there are undoutedly those out there who may need extra features such as a rear camera, a larger 10 inch form factor or perhaps 3G connectivity.

While we haven't heard about about a special rear camera model and ‘Nexus 10' rumours have dried up over the past month, Paul O'Brien of MoDaCo has heard from a “very well placed insider” that a 3G model is coming “in around 6 weeks”.

Apart from the additional Icera cellular modem, the Nexus 7 will remain how it is today, and how we reviewed it recently. Chances are the 3G model will also be priced a little higher than the current 159 GBP asking price for the 8 GB, Wi-Fi only model.

KitGuru says: Put this under the rumour files for now, but I do believe a 10 inch model would sell better.

KitGuru Games: The Best Console is the One in Your Pocket

Emulation is the saving grace of the video games industry. Despite its controversial nature, the technology will be the only way in which all games are preserved for the future – free from licensing agreements and other such nonsense. Better still is the fact that in a majority of cases, emulation allows for a more accurate recreation of the game’s original experience than official offerings, due to countless complex shaders, filters and tweakable settings. And the best part? Thanks to the progression of technology, your humble smartphone is able to do all this and more – giving you the power of 10,000 games in the palm of your hand.
