Android 4.1.2 rolling out to the Nexus 7 today

Since the Nexus 7 launched in July users wanting to use the tablet in landscape mode on the homescreens or application drawer have been left wanting. Today a new Android build, JZO54K to be exact is slowly rolling out to Nexus 7 devices around the world. This new build also brings a minor Android version upgrade to 4.1.2.

Known additions include the presence of a landscape orientated launcher, as well as the usual bug fixes and performance enhancements.

The update file is just over 31 MB in size. I have not received the update on my unit yet but you can check for yourself by going into settings > about tablet > system updates and hope the check now button works for you.

KitGuru says: This will be sure to please those wanting a landscape launcher since the tablet's launch.

KitGuru Games: The Best Console is the One in Your Pocket

Emulation is the saving grace of the video games industry. Despite its controversial nature, the technology will be the only way in which all games are preserved for the future – free from licensing agreements and other such nonsense. Better still is the fact that in a majority of cases, emulation allows for a more accurate recreation of the game’s original experience than official offerings, due to countless complex shaders, filters and tweakable settings. And the best part? Thanks to the progression of technology, your humble smartphone is able to do all this and more – giving you the power of 10,000 games in the palm of your hand.
