The new Samsung Galaxy S smartphone has been spotted

The most reliable information to date on the Samsung Galaxy S II successor has just been leaked thanks to a Vietnamese website. The website has posted up pictures and a video of the GT-i9300, the name supposedly given to the new Galaxy device due to be unveiled on the 3rd of May.

Today's leak is on the left while Gizmodo's one from a few days ago is seen on the right

It has been revealed that Samsung is using fake enclosures on test units to decrease the chances of a leak before it is officially announced. To add to the solidity of this leak, it looks a lot like the one we saw a few days ago. On this new leak however there is velcro or some other material stuck onto the unit where we would expect some capacitive buttons to be, instead onscreen buttons are seen instead on this latest leak. The above video shows the device up and running and Samsung has remained true to its TouchWiz UI, which still looks as horrible as ever. The display looks to be of the AMOLED variety and is reported to be 4.6 inches across and have a 1280 by 720 resolution. This supports previous rumours of a Super AMOLED+ HD display. The test unit features a 1.4 GHz quad core processor, which could well be the same Exynos processor found in the Meizu MX we saw a couple of days ago, a Mali-400MP GPU plus a full gigabyte of RAM.

There is evidence of a 8 MP camera and a front facing webcam.  This test unit (or prototype) also has a rather hefty 2050 mAh battery plus a full SIM slot plus a MicroSD slot to support the included 16 GB of internal storage. Naturally, the new Samsung phone is running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich alongside Samsung's TouchWiz UI and come with NFC support.

KitGuru says: What we are looking at could well be the Samsung Galaxy S III in the making, who else is getting goosebumps?
